SCHOOL CLOSURE INFO & Wintry mix early turning to mostly rain as temps warm
UPDATE: Jefferson County School District is on a 2 hour delay.
Good Wednesday, Central Oregon. This morning bings a chance for some snow over the mountains and a wintry mix in the lower elevations before sunrise when temperatures will still be around the freezing threshold. Also the chance for black ice on bridges & overpasses is possible early and conditions could be slick in mountain passes due to the snow and mixed precipitation. As the day progresses we should see more mild temperatures with a very good chance for rain.
There is a Winter Weather advisory along the East Slopes of the Cascades and in North Central Oregon- Including the cities of La Pine, Sunriver, Dufur, Maupin, and Moro until 11 am. This is due to mixed precipitation with additional snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch which will likely create slippery conditions and affect your morning commute.
Winds will be out of the Southwest in the 10-15 mph range but gusts closer to 20mph are possible in some areas. Highs today will be moderate to slightly above average in the 40s and overnight lows will again be just below freezing in the 20s and 30s
