Slick roads possible early with mostly clear day ahead & SCHOOL CLOSURE INFO

UPDATE: Crook County School District & Powell Butte Charter school on a 2 hour delay.

Happy Thursday, Central Oregon! Continued light rain/snow showers across the Cascades and possible early in the lower elevations but less likely than yesterday.  Before sunrise when temperatures are still chilly, there is a possibility of patchy fog and freezing fog and slippery/icy roads, so exercise caution on your morning commute.  Cloudy conditions will continue through the morning. but as the day progresses, we expect mostly sunny conditions with more mild temperatures.

These slightly warmer temperatures are not over yet, beginning by about Sunday and continuing through midweek.  High temperatures will peak around Tuesday and will be in the 50s in many lower elevation locations. These temperatures could be anywhere from 5 to 10 degrees above normal.  Overnight lows, also well above average, will range from the mid 30s to around 40 degrees by midweek

Winds today will be out of the southwest in the 10-15 mph range and appear calm a bit to the 5-10mph range late this afternoon. Highs will again be in the 40s and overnight lows will be in the 20s and 30s.  Overnight lows are forecast to be warming significantly into the 30s, and even possibly 40s this weekend.
