Still no answers, 10 months after Evelyn Weaver’s mysterious killing at her NW Bend home
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- It's been more than 10 months since Evelyn Weaver was found dead at her Bend home on NW Hill Street, in what police said was being investigated as a homicide. And while police tell us there are no new updates to provide about the killing, they also said the case remains active and is being worked on.
Surveillance photos showed Weaver's SUV more than 140 miles to the south, in Klamath Falls. Attempts by police to identify the man seen abandoning the vehicle were unsuccessful.
Friends who spoke to NewsChannel 21 last year about Weaver said she was outgoing, full of energy, and a true lover of the outdoors. After getting a master's degree at the University of Oregon, Weaver worked at Lonza in Bend as a scientist.
Reminiscing about their good times, one friend, Catherina Alyse, said, "She did nothing but bring joy and goodness. She is still the light of my life."
