Cool conditions today and still chilly Father’s Day

Cool weather kicks into gear today with highs in the low 60s as an upper-level low dips deeper into the region, bringing in colder air from the north-northwest. These colder temperatures are expected to continue throughout the weekend and into early next week.  

Overnight lows tonight into Sunday morning will be sub-freezing in La Pine and Sunriver. Forecast lows across the region will be in the 30s once again on Sunday. Frost and freezing temperatures are a potential concern for those with outdoor plants so consider covering your plants overnight or bringing them inside for the next couple days.  

Partly and mostly cloudy conditions are likely across the desert as cooler air and moisture pushes into the region from the West. Mountain showers are likely, with some possible snow mixed in. The ground is a little too warm for anything to accumulate, but roads through the mountain passes could be a little slick- Be careful if you're planning any trips. This rain is not expected to make it over our region, but a few scattered showers are not entirely out of the picture Sunday night.  

Monday should still be chilly, but a warm-up is expected later in the week.
