City of Bend

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Amid continued discussion about the need for more homes in Bend, especially ones deemed "affordable," the city recently shared a presentation that shows the number of new housing units created each year, dating back 20 years.

The graphic shows in the 2000s, the building trend was primarily more single-family homes, with a shift in recent years toward more multi-family housing - apartments, townhomes and the like.

Kelsey McGee is speaking Wednesday with the Bend Affordable Housing Manager Racheal Baker to learn more about what the numbers say about the changing housing environment and the needs vs. demands seen in recent years and to come. Her report will be on NewsChannel 21 at Five.
