Red Flag Warning issued August 2 at 2:08PM PDT until August 4 at 7:00AM PDT by NWS Pendleton OR

…HOT, DRY, AND UNSTABLE CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING…

.An upper level ridge of high pressure will remain over the
region through today, producing hot and dry conditions. A weak
weather disturbance riding up the ridge and over the region will
bring increasing unstable conditions across the eastern
mountains, with a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms in the
afternoon. Saturday thunderstorms could produce abundant lightning
leading to new fires starts.

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Red Flag
Warning for abundant lightning, which is in effect from 2 PM
Saturday to 7 AM PDT Sunday.

* AFFECTED AREA…Fire Weather Zones 640 Central Mountains of
Oregon, 642 Southern Blue and Strawberry Mountains and 644
Central Blue Mountains.

* TIMING…Late this morning through mid evening.

* WINDS…West 5 to 10 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…As low as 10 percent.

* TEMPERATURES…Up to 101.

* IMPACTS…The combination of hot, dry and unstable conditions
may lead to extreme fire behavior.

* HAINES…As high as 6.

* OUTFLOW WINDS…Gusts as high as 50 mph are possible
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
