REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Housing Works is happy to invite the community to the grand opening event celebrating the leasing of units at Spencer Court, a 60-unit affordable housing apartment community designed to support working families and individuals living in Redmond.

The event will start at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23.  Speakers will include government officials and partners involved in bringing this development to fruition, Housing Works said in a news release:

This thriving area is close to shopping, banking, medical, recreation, and public transportation.

Where previously stood 16 obsolete units built in the early 1980s stands 60 modern units that come fully equipped with amenities such as dishwashers, washers and dryers, and mini-splits for heating and cooling comfort.  Each unit has a private patio or deck area for outside enjoyment and large windows that fill the units with natural light.

The mixture of unit types will support and encourage various household compositions and multi-generational interactions.

Spencer Court includes a community building for residents to gather with a dog washing station and kitchen space, a playground, a dog run, and plenty of bike storage. The rents for a one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment are $850, $950, and $1,050. Household incomes are restricted to 60% of the area median income.

The Spencer Court development is supported by financing from Deschutes County, Oregon Housing and Community Services, the City of Redmond, Washington Federal Bank, and PNC Bank.  The development was designed by the Pinnacle Architecture/Morrison Maierle engineering team, and was constructed by local general contractor R&H Construction Co.
