Rain showers again today, near normal temperatures all week

After a mild weekend in the low 70s, we’ll be cooling back to about normal today, with temperatures generally in the 50s. This week, expect temperatures to range from the mid 50s to the mid 60s. Normal for this time of year is the low 60s.

A cold front moves through this morning, which is helping to keep our temperatures cooler today and tomorrow. As the front swings by, it will trigger showers ahead of the front but light and spotty showers will linger into the afternoon behind the front. Expect breezy conditions through the day due to the front passage.

We have a decent amount of moisture overhead so you can expect about a tenth of an inch of rain today, possibly upwards of two tenths in southern Deschutes. As the showers move northeast into the Blue Mountains, rainfall amounts will increase due to the climbing elevation. Although this is out of our forecast area, there is a flood watch over burn scars in the northeast part of the state. Be careful if you’re traveling to that area.

We’ll dry out tomorrow but remain cool and partly cloudy.

Temperatures rise a bit during the second half of the week due to a ridge building over our area, but we’ll only climb a few degrees above normal.

Our next chance for rain will be over the weekend as another front and low pressure is expected to come in.
