Early June heat wave continues, temps peak Monday

Temperatures are quickly warming up as a strong ridge of high pressure moves into the Pacific Northwest.

We broke a few heat records today in Central Oregon! Bend hit 93 degrees, beating the previous June 8th record of 90, set back in 2016.

Tomorrow will be the hottest day of the week, with highs climbing into the upper 90s.

As of now, our tri-county area is not under any heat advisories or warnings. However, a Yellow Local Alert Weather Day has been issued for Monday.

Seeing 90-degree heat this early in the season is uncommon, and coming after two already hot days on Saturday and Sunday, this stretch of heat will be even more impactful.

Hot, dry conditions also mean elevated fire danger, so please continue to practice fire safety.

On Tuesday, temperatures will cool down slightly but remain hot. There’s also a chance of dry thunderstorms over the mountains of central and eastern Oregon.

We'll cool down into the 70s by middle of the week.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
