Clouds return tonight, stray showers early Wednesday
(Bend. Ore KTVZ). Clouds are expected to arrive late today ahead of some rain that is slated to fall overnight. The rain will be light and mainly near the Cascades. Jefferson County is the focal point of the showers, but Sisters and some northern locations in Deschutes County could see light rain near sunrise.
The rain should taper off before mid-morning or noon at the latest, but the cloud cover will remain most of the day. The temperatures will be impacted by the lack of solar energy, so I am expecting to see highs in the upper 70s and low 80s. Winds will be gusty at times with some speeds reaching around 20 to 25 mph.
Thursday looks to be even cooler by a couple of degrees as we have a dry air mass behind the light rain arrive. This below normal weather pattern is not going to last into the weekend as a very dominant ridge of high pressure overtakes the Pacific Northwest over the weekend.
Highs Friday will be in the low to middle 80s under mostly sunny skies. The heat begins to overtake the area on Saturday as highs top out in the upper 80s.
Afternoon high temperatures reach the low 90s Sunday as the ridge arrives. Monday and Tuesday may see the mercury in the thermometer hit the middle 90s. This hot weather pattern is likely to linger for about four to five days. Stay safe in the heat and enjoy the warm vs. hot weather this week.
