Cooler than normal today, gradually warming through the weekend

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

Temperatures this afternoon will only top out in the 70s. We’ll clock in around 5 or 6 degrees below normal for this time of year. Skies will start partly cloudy but decrease into the afternoon, becoming mostly sunny. Since we’re losing the cloud cover, overnight lows will get a little crisp in some areas, dropping into the 30s and 40s. Temperatures aren’t expected to get near freezing, so your gardens should be okay.

A ridge of high pressure is the next incoming system. This pattern will have temperatures gradually climbing back into the 90s by Saturday or Sunday, depending on where you’re at.

With plenty of sunshine and the hot weather returning, this weekend would be a great weekend to spend on the water!

Fire danger will be elevated next week as the hot pattern is expected to continue and winds get gusty for a few days.

Happy Thursday! Have a nice day.
