Briefly warmer and drier pattern heading into the weekend

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

The system that brought fall-like weather this last week has exited the region and a new system is moving in. A ridge of high pressure will pass through the region quickly and keep us warmer and drier today and tomorrow. Look for highs to get back to near normal today and sit a little above tomorrow.

Temperatures today will be in the mid and upper 70s while temperatures Saturday will be in the upper 70s and low 80s.

The warm and dry pattern will be short-lived as an upper level low swings in by Sunday. Clouds will increase Saturday night and Sunday will be cool and wet once again. Plan for scattered showers and the chance for isolated storms with afternoon highs only in the 60s and low 70s.

We’ll make a quick turnaround next week. Rain is expected to be a one-day event and clear out by Monday. Temperatures will heat up into mid week and skies will clear.

For anyone with outdoor plants or gardens–overnight Sunday, low temperatures will drop into the 30s and 40s. Some areas in southern Deschutes County will be near freezing. After Sunday’s rain, this could be the first frost for some backyards. Plan accordingly!

Have a great Friday and an awesome weekend!
