Long term wet pattern begins today with light rain showers

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

Two words for the next week: warm and wet. “Warm” meaning relatively speaking for early December. Temperatures are above normal for at least the next seven days, especially next week. Highs next week will be 10-15 degrees above the seasonal average so we’ll be watching out for any potential new records. Plan for highs to range from the mid 40s to the mid 50s, but even nearing 60 at times in a few areas.

A wet pattern begins today with rain chances being the main feature of the forecast for the next week. Light, scattered showers will begin today.

Friday will be the best day for rainfall. Rain will be light to moderate and the Tri County area will be able to pick up between 0.10” to 0.40” by the end of the day.

While the weekend will bring mostly mountain showers, there is still a slight chance for a few stray showers in the high desert. New snowfall on the mountains this weekend will likely be just a few inches.

You’ll want to hold on to your rain gear because the rain isn’t letting up next week. Chances for precipitation continue through the long-term forecast. It's not incredibly often that we see precipitation chances every single day for a week in Central Oregon.

Happy Thursday! Have a great day.
