Dry, mild, and sunny pattern takes over heading into the weekend

BEND, Ore (KTVZ) -
Temperatures for the next few days will be about 20 degrees above the seasonal average. Highs will range from the mid 50s to the lower 60s when normal for this time of year is 41 degrees.
Central Oregon cities broke records yesterday and have the potential to break a few more in the coming days, some of which have been held for over 100 years.
Winds are calming today and you’ll see a bit more sunshine through the afternoon, which should make it a beautiful day to spend outside. You’ll want to consider getting outdoors at some point during these rare, warm December days. The warm, dry, and sunny pattern will continue into the weekend, so you have plenty of time.
Changes aren’t expected until next week. Rain will return at the top of next week, while temperatures continue to stay above normal.
Next week is shaping up to be another potentially wet week for the Northwest. After the Atmospheric River event this week, next week's rain and snow could bring another wave of flood concerns to some areas across the region.
The good news is that we could see some mountain snow sometime next week. I know many are eager to hit the slopes, so we will continue to monitor any and all changes to the forecast here on KTVZ News.
Have a nice Thursday.
