LOCAL ALERT WEATHER DAY: Rain and flood concerns continue today

BEND, Ore (KTVZ) -

We’ve issued another Local Alert Weather Day due to the possibility of flooding. Rain and the chance for an early wintry mix will continue through the first half of the day. The Tri-Counties will pick up another half inch of rain, give or take, before the day is up. Rain totals yesterday ranged from 0.50” to near 3.00” for some.

The Flood Watch has been extended through Saturday evening. Localized flooding is still possible. A Flood Warning is out for the Whychus Creek area near Sisters and a Flash Flood Warning is active for the Shikike Creek near Warm Springs due to a log jam. Warnings mean that flooding is actively occurring or expected to occur.

Saturday is expected to be briefly dry, with a mixture of sunshine and clouds before a wintry mix and mountain snow return Sunday morning. Temperatures will be in the 40s this weekend.

Winter alerts are out for the Cascades through Saturday morning. Little accumulation is expected in the high desert but the mountains will pick up between 6-12”. Travel through the passes will be impacted.

Saturday is dry but another 4-8” is possible Sunday. Wintry weather will continue off and on next week.

Have a wonderful weekend and stay safe!
