Foggy pattern remains across portions of Central Oregon, mostly clear south of Bend

KTVZ

A layer of fog is stuck near the ground across much of the region, keeping temperatures cold with many highs at or below freezing. Some roads look a little slick this morning.

High pressure remains in control, keeping conditions dry with light winds, and that’s why we haven’t seen much change over the past several days.

Most areas should expect fog to linger today, which will hold afternoon highs down. Many spots have only been able to reach the upper 20s to low 30s.

We may not see much improvement until at least Friday. A new system could bring enough wind and mixing to help break up the fog, but it will also bring in cooler air, keeping highs closer to the low 30s.

It has been a bit warmer south of Bend in areas like Sunriver and La Pine. If you’re heading to the resorts, you’ll climb back into the sunshine.

Warmer temperatures could return this weekend, with highs back in the low to mid 40s.
