Bluebird ski day, dry and quiet patten across the High Desert

Bend, Ore (KTVZ) – Over the weekend the resorts were excited to get nearly a foot of snow and today we have followed that with plenty of sunshine and a Bluebird Day. Across the Tri-Counties it is sunny and mild with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Normal pattern for early February is underway with sunny and dry conditions through the work week.
Tuesday will be mostly sunny and mild with highs in the upper 40s and a mix of clouds and sunshine. An area of low pressure is developing off the central California coasty by then and will move inland. As the low moves on shore, there will be a general flow from the south that will try to bring some rain and snow to Oregon. The track of the low keeps it far enough away from the area that only southern Oregon will see a chance for rain and or snow.
We still have to talk about the southern low on Wednesday as some models bring in the chance for snow in the morning. Once again, the track is more than likely too far south for snow to fall over Central Oregon, but some clouds will arrive late Tuesday and linger into Wednesday. I should have a better handle on the track tomorrow, but for now I am keeping us dry.
Thursday and Friday will see a slight spike in the temperature readings. Highs will be close to 50 both days as the region remains dry.
On Valentine’s Day there may be a chance for some passing showers, but nothing widespread is expected. That should be the same on Sunday and Monday of next week as well.
Overall, it looks to be a quiet week with highs just a few degrees above normal, which is 45.
Please, Stay safe.
