Bend’s Hunter Hess scores top five in both qualifying runs, aims for Olympic gold in Men’s Freeski Halfpipe Finals

MILAN-CORTINA (KTVZ) -- On Friday, freestyle skier Hunter Hess scored in the top five in both of his qualifying round runs. Hess was the first skier to enter the halfpipe early Friday morning and earned a score of 82.75, landing in the number five spot among the first run cohort.

Each athlete gets two runs in the Qualifying Round, and with his second run, Hess received a higher score of 85 and currently sits in third among the second run cohort.

The athletes who score in the top 12 will move on to the Freeski Halfpipe Finals--which is set for later today. Click here for the full schedule and when you can catch Hunter Hess go for gold!
