High Desert Heat Advisory

10 AM to 10 PM TODAY

Temperatures are climbing into the 90s and nearing 100°F across parts of the High Desert. A Heat Advisory is in effect as dangerous heat increases the risk of heat-related illness.

Our weather team will be tracking the heat all day and providing updates on-air, online, and through the Local Alert Weather App.

QUICK HEAT SAFETY REMINDERS:

  • 💧 Hydrate: Drink plenty of water even if you don't feel thirsty.
  • 🚗 Look Before You Lock: Never leave kids or pets in a vehicle under any circumstances.
  • ☀️ Beat the Peak: Avoid the direct sun and limit strenuous outdoor activities during peak heat.
  • 🛑 Know the Danger Signs: Dizziness, confusion, nausea, or a lack of sweating are serious warning signs. Move to shade immediately—heat stroke is a medical emergency-call 911.
