Cool, Gusty Weekend Before 4th of July Warmup

CENTRAL OREGON — Keep your jacket handy this weekend. A cool, breezy forecast is ahead for the high desert, bringing crisp temperatures before a major holiday warmup arrives.

  • Tonight: Mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of passing evening rain showers. Lows will drop into the chilly upper 30s and lower 40s. West winds will remain gusty, reaching up to 30 mph.
  • Sunday: Cool and partly cloudy. Highs will only reach the mid-to-upper 60s in the valleys, while mountain slopes stay stuck in the 40s and 50s with a 50% chance of scattered showers.
  • Looking Ahead: The forecast stays cool and breezy near 70 on Monday, but a beautiful stretch of sunshine and upper-70s to lower-80s is tracking into the region just in time for Independence Day.
