Possible air quality impacts, dry and hot pattern to continue next week

KTVZ

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - We're expecting some impacts to air quality this morning due to nearby wildfires that started this week.

Today will be mostly sunny, with temperatures climbing back into the low 90s. Breezy conditions will develop in some areas this afternoon, which could make firefighting efforts more challenging.

The latest Drought Monitor shows little change across the tri-counties, with about 55 to 60 percent of the area still in the Extreme Drought category.

Skies will be mostly clear overnight, with lows dipping into the 40s and 50s.

There's no relief from the heat this weekend. Highs will stay in the low to mid 90s Saturday and Sunday with plenty of sunshine.

The hot weather sticks around into next week, bringing a stretch of 90-degree days. We'll see a few more clouds by Monday, with a slight chance for some rain returning Tuesday night.

As we move through this hot and dry stretch, be sure to stay hydrated, keep an eye on the air quality if you're spending time outside, and make sure emergency alerts are turned on. With fire season underway, it's always a good idea to be prepared.
