Heat Continues Before Midweek Rain Chances

Hot weather will continue across Central Oregon through Tuesday, with afternoon highs in the lower to mid-90s for Bend, Redmond, Madras and Prineville. Communities, including Sisters, Camp Sherman and Sunriver, will stay slightly cooler, with highs in the upper 70s to upper 80s.

Patchy smoke is expected tonight and Sunday morning, with areas of smoke developing Sunday afternoon and evening. Smoke may linger into Sunday night.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms returns Tuesday night, mainly along the east slopes of the Cascades, before expanding into parts of Central Oregon on Wednesday. Most locations have only a 20% chance of showers Tuesday night and Wednesday, while the east slopes have a 40% to 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Drier weather returns Thursday, with only a slight chance of a shower along the east slopes before mostly clear skies settle in through next weekend. High temperatures will remain warm, ranging from the upper 80s to the mid-90s.
