Patchy smoke this weekend, warmer Sunday

BEND, Ore. — A quieter weekend of weather continues across Central Oregon, with patchy smoke, some cloud cover and warm afternoon temperatures.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy across Bend, Redmond, Madras and Prineville, with patchy smoke possible. Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid-50s. Northwest winds of 5 to 15 mph this evening will become light overnight.

Sunday starts partly cloudy before skies clear through the day. Highs will reach the mid to upper 80s across Bend, Redmond, Madras and Prineville, with light winds.

It will be cooler around Sisters, Sunriver and La Pine, where highs will generally range from the lower 70s to lower 80s, with some valleys reaching the lower to mid-80s. Patchy smoke will remain possible.

Sunday night will be mostly cloudy, with temperatures falling into the 50s. Northwest winds could gust to around 20 mph during the evening in parts of Central Oregon before becoming light.

Monday brings another warm day, with highs in the mid to upper 80s around Bend, Redmond, Madras and Prineville. Temperatures closer to the Cascades will generally stay in the 70s to lower 80s.

The pattern changes little through much of the workweek. Expect highs generally in the 80s across Central Oregon, with cooler temperatures closer to the Cascades and overnight lows mainly in the upper 40s and 50s.

By Friday night into Saturday, the forecast introduces a 20% chance of rain showers across Central Oregon and the east slopes of the Cascades.
