Hot pattern in place, elevated fire danger

KTVZ

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - A Red Flag Warning will take effect for the Warm Springs area at noon today. Breezy westerly winds and very dry conditions could lead to rapid fire growth.

Fire danger remains elevated across the region as the hot and dry pattern continues. Central Oregon is in the Extreme Drought Category, so please be aware of any fire restrictions at your location.

Highs will reach the 80s to 90s across Central Oregon today. Skies will be sunny, but we are still dealing with some patchy smoke.

Clouds will increase Tuesday night, but there will be a gradual clearing on Wednesday.

The heat peaks Thursday, with highs climbing into the mid 90s. Areas farther north, including parts of Jefferson County, could even approach triple digits.

Highs will remain very warm Friday as more clouds move in. A few showers may develop, but rain chances remain low.

Near normal temperatures return this weekend, with highs returning to the low 80s Saturday. Sunday stays mostly sunny with highs in the mid 80s.
