Crook County 9-1-1 hosts career open house on Oct. 21

City of Prineville

PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Crook County 9-1-1 is inviting community members to learn more about careers in emergency dispatch at a recruitment open house later this month.

The event is scheduled for Oct. 21 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Prineville Police Department.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet dispatch staff, tour the dispatch center and learn more about the hiring process.

Organizers say emergency dispatch may be a good fit for people who can stay calm under pressure, make quick decisions, multitask and pay close attention to detail while working with phones, radios and computer systems.

The open house is free to attend, but space is limited. Those interested must RSVP by Oct. 18.
