Temporary road closure at Sugar Creek

KTVZ

Starting Monday, July 16 through the end of August, Forest Service Road 58 will be closed just west of the Sugar Creek campground for a culvert replacement project.

The day use area of Sugar Creek campground can be accessed, however, there will be a detour in place to get to the Sugar Creek campground. The closure is necessary to allow the construction work to take place safely during the culvert replacement.

The detour route to get to the Sugar Creek campground will be signed and will consist of traveling on Puitt County Road to FS Road 58 through the Rager Ranger Station compound.

Visitors also need to be aware of the heavy volume of log and commercial activity traffic on the Lookout Mountain Ranger District and Paulina Ranger District of the Ochoco National Forest. When approaching areas of commercial activity, slow down, stay on your side of the road, and use turnouts.

Expect commercial activity on the following FS roads: 22, 2210, 2630, 42, 58, 5830, and 5840. There will also be activity in the vicinity of all these roads.
