KTVZ

Player registration is now open for the 10th Annual Gopher Broke Scramble Golf Tournament – Bend’s own “Caddyshack for Kid’s Sake.”

Hosted by the Bend Park & Recreation Foundation, this year’s tournament will be held on Friday, September 13th at Bend Golf & Country Club.

The annual event supports recreation scholarships for children and people with disabilities to participate in Bend Park & Recreation District programs that foster self-confidence, promote healthy lifestyles and teach life-long lessons.

Sponsored by Century Insurance Group, Skanska, Horizon Broadcasting and other local sponsors, the tournament features a 12:30 pm shotgun start with a fun welcome at registration, food and beverage at each hole sponsored by local businesses, great prizes and a happy hour awards presentation.

Cost is $600 for a team of four or $150 for individual players. Registration forms are available online at http://www.bendparksandrec.org/info/Foundation/Gopher_Broke_Scramble/.

Additional sponsor opportunities are also available.

In 2012, Bend Park & Recreation District provided over $240,000 as scholarships to families needing financial assistance in order to participate in programs. Bend Park & Recreation Foundation helps provide funds to ensure that all families are able to participate in quality programs, regardless of ability to pay.
