OSU-Cascades course explores digital painting

KTVZ

Students of fine art at Oregon State University – Cascades now have an opportunity to study painting as a digital art form.

Painting II: New Genre, a course offered by the branch campus’s art program, explores painting through Artrage, a software application that enables students to create digital compositions, collages and paintings.

Students will learn the digital techniques on dedicated Wacom Bamboo computer tablets. Funding for the course technology was provided through an OSU Technology Resources Fund grant.

The course will be taught by designer and fine artist Isaac Peterson. It is limited to 20 students and meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. beginning September 30. No prerequisites are required, but a knowledge of computers is essential.

Students must be admitted to OSU-Cascades to enroll in the course. The application deadline is September 1.
