Plenty of options to shop local for Christmas

It’s less than three weeks to Christmas, and while Bend may not be the biggest city around, businesses have plenty of locally made gift options for everyone this holiday season.

Here’s how you can put a little Bend under your Christmas tree>

Whether they’re naughty or nice, Bend’s gift list covers them all.

“Think beer,” said Natalie Dent of Campbell Consultants.

One thing’s for sure: In Bend, we know how to drink and be merry, all year round.. But for your beer lover on the holiday, growlers are a good option.

“The Hydroflasks are always popular,” said Ted Howe, owner of Cascade Cottons.

That way, they can fill it with THE brew of their choice.

“Lots of good options when it comes to beer,” Dent said.

Ladies are notoriously hard to shop for. But what about Nashelle Jewelers? It is locally owned by a mother of four. She uses recycled metals.

A mother of four knows, the kids are on break, leaving parents with even more on their plate.

“They’re home for about two weeks, so a lot of time to fill,” Dent said.

There are things to buy them to get them out and about.

“Why not give them the gift of skiing?” Dent said.

Mt. Bachelor sells a five -ski lesson package for kids for under $200.

All this making a list and checking it twice is stressful, but Dani makes soaps and candles for a calm night in.

“They have fresh fir and winter spice for the holiday season,” Dent said.

Last but not least, our four-legged friends deserve some love, too.

Ruff Wear makes some winter goodies for the pups.

Finally, top the gift-giving off by filling stockings to the brim. Bend logo stickers, mugs and keychains are sure to please.
