NW Redmond Subway robbed at knifepoint
A masked man wielding a knife robbed a northwest Redmond Subway sandwich shop Tuesday morning, then ran away, police said. Their search of the area didn’t find the suspect and they sought the public’s help in finding the suspect.
Police responded around 8:06 a.m. to the reported holdup at the north Redmond Subway at 529 NW Fir Avenue, said Lt. Mike Kidwell. Officers learned on scene that the robber had brandished a fixed-blade kitchen-style knife and demanded money from employees. He received the cash and ran away.
The robber was described as Hispanic, 5-foot-8 to 5-10 with a medium build, short black hair, dark-colored eyes, wearing an orange sweatshirt, a mask and pajama-style pants, Kidwell said.
Police canvased the area, reviewed video from several businesses and completed a K-9 track that determined the robber headed in a southeast direction, toward the area of the Redmond Fire Department, the lieutenant said.
