Prineville woman recovering after motorcycle crash
A Prineville woman was recuperating Tuesday at a Redmond hospital after a motorcycle operated by her husband crashed Monday afternoon on Juniper Canyon Road, Crook County sheriff’s deputies said.
Juli Alderman, 54, was in good condition at St. Charles Redmond, where she had been transferred from Pioneer Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said.
Sheriff’s deputies and Crook County Fire and Rescue medics responded around 4:35 p.m. Monday to the reported crash near milepost .5 on Juniper Canyon Road, said Sgt. James Savage.
An investigation found that Alan Alderman, 51, was heading south on a 2008 Harley Davidson, accompanied by his wife, when he lost control and drifted off onto the gravel shoulder, Savage said.
Alan Alderman tried to control the bike on the soft gravel but the bike tipped over, sending his wife falling to the ground, the sergeant said. She sustained serious injuries, but her husband was unhurt in the crash, he added.
Prineville police helped with traffic control, according to Savage, who said alcohol was not a factor in the accident and no citations were issued. Both riders were wearing helmets, Savage said.
