St. Charles Madras to break ground on expansion

KTVZ

The public is invited to attend a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, Aug. 18 to mark the beginning of construction of a new addition to and renovation of St. Charles Madras.

Last year, the St. Charles Health System Board of Directors approved the $16 million project, which will add 26,000 square feet to the facility and enhance outpatient and primary care services.

The addition will include a new main entrance, a new combined operating room and emergency department, a new imaging department and laboratory. The existing infrastructure will also undergo upgrades.

The project fulfills St. Charles’ commitment to the Madras community to upgrade the hospital as part of the asset transfer agreement with the Mountain View Hospital District. St. Charles Madras, which was formerly Mountain View Hospital, became part of the health system on Jan. 1, 2014.

The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. at St. Charles Madras near the rehabilitation entrance on the north side of the campus.
