Redmond School Board member Etnire resigns

Redmond School District board member Rhonda Etnire has submitted her resignation effective August 5.

Etnire is currently the Redmond Fred Meyer Store Director. She has accepted a position as Apparel Coordinator for Central & Eastern Washington and will be relocating to Boise, Idaho this month.

Entire was elected to the board of directors on July 1, 2015. She was elected to serve the remaining two-year term left by former board member, Ron Munkres. The board approved Etnire’s resignation during a special board meeting held on Wednesday, August 5.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my short time on the Redmond School District board,” sharedEtnire “I am confident in the direction the District is going and know that great things are going to happen. I would like to thank the school district, the board and the community for their support.”

The board will follow district protocol to fill the vacancy. Applications will be accepted now through September 11 with interviews to follow. The incoming candidate will take office October 7, 2015 and will serve through the remainder of Etnire’s term to June 30, 2017.

Applications are available online on thedistrict website or in person at the District Officelocated at 145 SE Salmon Dr., in Redmond. Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on September 11 and will be accepted in person at the Redmond School District Office or by email togina.blanchette@redmondschools.org.

The Redmond School District Board of Directors consists of five members elected to serve overlapping four-year terms as non-salaried trustees of the school district. As elected officials, the board is responsible for the scope, depth and quality of education and is the official policy-making body of the school district.
