New ODOT cameras installed on Century Drive

KTVZ

Before skiers, boarders and other snow-lovers such as sledders and tubers head to Mt. Bachelor and nearby areas of the Cascades this winter, they can now get a current look at weather, road and traffic conditions, thanks to a pair of new ODOT TripCheck cameras.

The pair of cameras added to the growing network of cameras on the agency’s TripCheck page show views in both the westbound and eastbound directions on Century Drive (the Cascade Lakes Highway) near milepost 21.

They also show current temperature and wind conditions at the nearly 6,400-foot elevation.

On Thursday morning, the images showed clear, dry pavement and roadside snowfall.

Meanwhile, Mt. Bachelor reports getting 26 inches of snow since Oct. 1 and a snow depth of 15 inches as of Thursday at mid-mountain (7,300-foot elevation, near the top of the Sunrise Express lift).
