80 Degrees and a Breeze: Navigating Thursday’s High Desert Heat

Expect a bright, sunny finish to your Thursday. While Bend hits 80 degrees, our mountain-fringe neighbors in Sisters and Sunriver will stay a touch milder in the low-to-mid 70s. It’s a perfect window for the south-county crew down in La Pine to hit the trails or get the yard work done early, especially before those northwest breezes pick back up.

Speaking of the wind, we are tracking gusts between 25 and 30 mph through this evening. These will act as a natural scrubber for the air, but they’ll keep things feeling a bit "gritty" if you're out on the river or the ridge.

The "Window Alert" & Tonight

Tonight remains mostly clear and crisp with lows dipping into the mid-40s. While our air quality sensors are currently sitting in the "Good" range, keep in mind that as the winds die down after midnight, light haze from regional burns can settle into the low spots. If you want to keep your indoor air fresh, I’d suggest closing the windows before you head to bed.
