The Giving Plate set to open two new, larger facilities this spring as region’s food needs grow

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The Giving Plate is expanding its operations with two new buildings, both set to open in April, to better meet the needs of those in the community who are struggling to feed themselves and their families.

The new Distribution Center, located at 1212 NE 1st Street in Bend, is where community members will be able drop off food.

The Community Store, located at 61470 S Hwy 97 in Bend, is where people who want to use the food pantry can shop, much like they would in a grocery store.

Bola Gbadebo spoke this week with Executive Director Ranae Staley about how the big expansion will help them meet the community's growing need for assistance.
