Pet Pals: Meet Matt, the sweetest pup looking for his forever home!

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Meet Matt, a three-month-old puppy looking for his forever home through the Humane Society of Central Oregon.

Matt and his littermate, Logan, are both male puppies who are expected to grow into large dogs. Humane Society staff say Matt is curious and inquisitive, but surprisingly calm and laid-back for a puppy.

“He’s been with us at the shelter for a few days, and he hasn’t been mouthy,” said Bekka with the Humane Society of Central Oregon. “He’s just been gentle and sweet with all people.”

Matt recently got a bath and quickly settled in for some cuddles, showing off his soft coat, speckles and big ears.

The Humane Society is hosting a special event Saturday where people can meet other animals looking for homes.

The shelter’s Clear the Shelters Open House Celebration runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The event will include snacks, prizes, giveaways and games for kids. The Humane Society is also offering an adoption promotion, with adoption fees discounted by 50% to 100% for available animals.

The goal is to find homes for every available animal at the shelter.

Matt is expected to become available for adoption next week. In the meantime, the Humane Society says there are plenty of other animals ready to meet potential adopters.
