A La Pine man was taken to a Springfield hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a crash Monday morning on Highway 58 east of Oakridge, at the Salt Creek Tunnel work zone, Oregon State Police said.

According to Senior Trooper Erich Schermerhorn, around 11 a.m., a pickup pulling a camper trailer driven by Gary K. Cullin, 79, of La Pine, was westbound on Highway 58 near milepost 57 entering the Salt Creek Tunnel work zone.

For an unknown reason, troopers said, his pickup struck the rear of an unoccupied parked vehicle belonging to a highway construction flagger employee.

After impact, the pickup then collided with the rear of vehicle towed by a motor home operated by Brenda J. Molina, 52, also of La Pine.

Cullin was taken by ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend with non-life threatening injuries.

Molina was not injured, troopers said.

OSP was assisted at the scene by Oakridge Fire Department and ODOT. Labor Day traffic was affected in the area for about four hours.
