Mio Sushi closes in Bend after nearly 20 years in business

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- After almost 20 years in business, local sushi restaurant Mio Sushi is closing after the Old Mill District decided not to renew it's lease.

Mio Sushi had some of the county's lowest health inspection scores in recent years, with violations including improper sanitation, food storage temperatures and missing food handler permits.

The restaurant has since removed its signs and covered its windows without announcing a closure.

The space will become the Old Mill District's SantaLand, which typically opens the day after Thanksgiving.
