C.O. businesses support homeless teens
During this season of giving, a few local businesses have adopted Cascade Youth and Family Center to help homeless and runaway teens.
Christmas trees are for sale at Cascade Youth & Family Center, located at 19 SW Century Drive, Bend. A portion of the tree sales will benefit homeless and runaway youth.
C.E. Lovejoy’s Brookswood Market has a giving tree with names and ages of individual youth to adopt for holiday gifts. Cut Loose Hair Salon has a giving tree with names and ages of individual youth to adopt for holiday gifts. Morgan Stanley is donating gift cards for the residents of the homeless teen shelter. Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company put a call out to their employees to contribute items on the wish list for Cascade Youth & Family Center as part of their annual holiday party celebration. The organization is seeking donations of sleeping bags, warm clothes, bus passes and gift cards for youth.
Cascade Youth and Family Center is the largest youth-serving organization in Central Oregon. Established in 1989, this program provides shelter and support to homeless and runaway youth.
Services also include family mediation to reunite families when possible and support for youth living on the streets.
Services for street youth include warm food and basic hygiene kits as well as blankets, sleeping bags, and warm clothes. The goal of the Street Outreach Program is to reach kids where they are at, provide them with basic needs, and offer options to help them find safety and stability.
