Bend-La Pine principals to host ice cream socials

KTVZ

Community members, neighbors, parents and students are invited to meet Bend-La Pine Schools’ principals during ice cream socials at local schools on Thursday, Aug. 13 from 4 to 6 p.m.

These district-wide events will include time for the public to chat with their local principals while enjoying free ice cream bars and Popsicles.

Every school in the district will host a Meet the Principal event on this date, except for the district’s two new schools, Silver Rail Elementary and Pacific Crest Middle School, which will host community barbecues and ribbon cutting ceremonies in early September in lieu of the ice cream socials.

“These Meet the Principal events give neighbors and families a chance to connect with their local principals in a fun, informal setting and start the school year off on a great note,” said Superintendent Shay Mikalson. “We hope to see new and established families as well as interested community members at our schools, enjoying a bit of summer fun while developing bonds with their local principals.”
