The Bend Chamber is seeking entries for the 16th annual Veteran’s Day Parade.

“This parade honors the service and sacrifices made by ALL military, veterans and their families,” said Robin Rogers, Bend Chamber senior vice president of programs and events.

Bend’s annual Veterans Day Parade is the second-largest Veteran’s Day parade in Oregon, with more than 120 organizations participating and thousands of spectators lining the streets of downtown Bend.

This year’s theme, “Living Legacies,” commemorates the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII and the 40th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War.

“The annual Veterans Day Parade offers a unique and patriotic opportunity to honor those who have served and are active duty military personnel,” Rogers said.

The Veterans Day Parade Committee of the Bend Chamber invites veterans, schools, bands and businesses to participate in the parade, scheduled to start at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Participants must register at a planning meeting on Oct. 5 and Oct. 19. Both meetings will begin at 6 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1643, located at 1503 NE Fourth St. in Bend. Registration is free.
