DCSO seeks info on wildfire-related economic losses
Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Management is working with the State of Oregon to identify potential economic losses due to wildfires from mid-August through early September.
Businesses can suffer economic damages from major events and disasters. When made aware of these losses, the governor can request assistance from the Small Business Association in the form of an Economic Injury Disaster Loan.
Sgt. Nathan Garibay, emergency services manager, said in Friday’s announcement, “We are currently accepting applications from small businesses and 501c3 non-profits for EIDL.
“If your Deschutes County small business or non-profit organization suffered an economic loss due to the smoke beginning on August 17, 2017 through early September and you’re interested in applying for assistance, please email your contact information and the name of your business to EmergencyMgt@deschutes.org. A representative will contact you with more information.
“Please contact us by 5 pm on Friday, October 13. We still need between 5-10 businesses or qualifying non-profits to report loss in order to qualify for assistance.”
