Turner woman dead, husband also shot

TURNER, Ore. (AP) – Authorities say a Turner woman was found shot to death when deputies searched the home of a man who was suffering from a gunshot wound.
Lt. Chris Baldridge of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office says 53-year-old Clayton Stanfill walked into the Turner Fire Department Sunday afternoon. He received treatment at the station before being taken to Salem Hospital. He’s expected to recover.
Deputies went to Stanfill’s home in Turner and discovered the body of his wife, 52-year-old Judy Stanfill. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
Baldridge says detectives are still investigating, but don’t believe anyone else was involved. No arrest has been made.

TURNER, Ore. (AP) – Authorities say a woman was found dead inside a Turner home after a man walked into a fire station with a gunshot wound.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says the wounded man went to the Turner Fire Department late Sunday afternoon and received treatment. Deputies later searched his home and found the woman’s body.
The sheriff’s office has yet to release any names or say what circumstances led to the shootings.
However, authorities say there’s no danger to the public.
