Gulich, Pivec lead No. 17 Oregon State women over Utah 69-58

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – Marie Gulich scored 18 points and blocked six shots and No. 17 Oregon State defeated Utah 69-58 on Friday night.

Mikayla Pivec had 14 points and 12 rebounds for her third double-double this season and Taya Corosdale added 11 points for the Beavers (19-3, 8-1 Pac-12), who were coming off a loss to No. 7 Oregon.

Megan Huff scored 26 points, the transfer’s season high, with Emily Potter adding 14 for Utah (14-6, 5-4).

Huff scored 16 points and Potter 12 in the first half when the Utes took a 36-34 lead. But Oregon outscored Utah 16-8 in the third quarter after the Utes went scoreless over the final 6:19.

Five straight points by Daneesha Provo got Utah within two, 59-57, with 2:25 remaining but Gulich made consecutive baskets and she and Pivec combined to make six free throws to pull away.

The Beavers have won nine straight over Utah.
