Trending soggier for Halloween on the High Desert

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Howdy all, and happy Thursday! Today, we're seeing a change in our Halloween forecast. We're now trending a bit wetter as our next weather system takes a slightly different track, bringing a better chance for rain to Central Oregon on Saturday. The system looks to move south of us before swinging back north, allowing showers to move into the High Desert from the south and southwest. While I don't expect a complete washout, we could see showers on and off throughout the day and into Saturday night, certainly impacting Halloween plans.

As far as rainfall totals go, most communities could pick up anywhere from a few hundredths to around a tenth of an inch. I certainly don't expect this to turn into a major rain event or completely spoil Halloween festivities, however, it is looking a little damp, so bringing an umbrella along would be a good idea. We'll continue watching the system's track as we get closer to the weekend, as even small changes could affect when and where showers develop.

Temperatures will remain below average over the next several days, with highs in the low 50s Friday before dropping into the upper 40s Saturday and Sunday. If you're heading out trick-or-treating, be prepared for chilly conditions and have those extra layers ready (including a rain layer) for the kiddos.

For next week, we'll gradually warm back into the mid-50s, with drier conditions expected to return. For now, keep those jackets and umbrellas handy. We'll keep tracking the latest forecast and bring you updates right here on KTVZ.com!
