Planned ignitions set for Bend and Chemult areas

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) --Prescribed burns are set to commence today in Central Oregon, with planned ignitions scheduled near Bend and Chemult.

At 10am, 38 acres of prescribed burns are set to ignite five miles northwest of Chemult. At 10:30am, 294 acres are set to ignite one mile west of Bend and South of the Cascade Lakes Highway.

These controlled burns, aimed at reducing wildfire risks, will cover significant acreage in the region.
