Fire severely damages Bend home, investigation ongoing

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A garage fire Sunday morning along NW Crossing Drive in Bend severely damaged a home.

The residence is one of five attached townhomes in the area. While one adjacent unit sustained minor smoke and soot damage, four of the five townhomes remain habitable.

Damage to the structure is estimated at $500,000, with an additional $75,000 in contents damage and $8,000 to a vehicle parked in front of the garage. The homeowner declined assistance from the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
