Jefferson County Fair offers new attractions, sheriff’s trading cards

MADRAS, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The Jefferson County Fair is currently underway, offering classic fair attractions and entertainment despite ongoing wildfires in the area. The fair will continue through Saturday.

The community has gathered for the annual celebration, which features classic fair food, vendors and a live rodeo. Four-H participants are showcasing their sheep, cows and goats at the event.

Jacob Shaw, a Madras resident, shared his experience at the fair. “I mean, I've just been, like, running around, checking out the new stuff, buying a few things.” Shaw said.

Another Madras resident, William Ward, noted an appealing new feature for families. “I like that this year they have a kids museum. That's pretty nice, because I've got kids and you can take the kids in there and play. Haven't done the bouncy castles yet, but, you know, it's been pretty good,” Ward said.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is operating a booth where attendees can pick up limited-edition 2026 trading cards. There are 23 unique cards to collect, including rare “level up” cards, which highlight the agency's various positions and specialties.

Officials reported that the sheriff's booth hours may be limited. This is due to deputies responding to local wildfires.
