PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) — Prineville voters have elected 20-year-old Zach Levesque as the city’s next mayor, bringing a new generation of leadership to City Hall.

Levesque was the only named candidate on the ballot in Tuesday’s general election. According to unofficial results from the Oregon Secretary of State, updated early Wednesday morning, Levesque received 3,269 votes, compared with 289 write-in votes.

The election follows the resignation of former Mayor Jason Beebe, who stepped down in June, citing personal reasons. Beebe had served as mayor since 2021 and previously served on the City Council.

Levesque is expected to begin his two-year term at the first City Council meeting of 2027.

Prineville operates under a council-manager form of government. As mayor, Levesque will serve as a voting member of the City Council, which establishes city policies and priorities. The city manager oversees day-to-day operations and carries out council decisions.

At 20 years old, Levesque will bring a younger perspective to city leadership as Prineville continues addressing issues affecting its residents and future growth.

KTVZ NewsChannel 21 is working to speak with Levesque about what inspired him to run, his priorities for the community and what residents can expect as he prepares to take office.
